Watch Doctor Who's Peter Capaldi Dress Up For Sick Kids

Peter Capaldi has always seemed like a pretty stand-up gentleman, and recently he was given the opportunity to visit a sick kid in the hospital who happens to be a huge Doctor Who fan. Capaldi didn't just go as himself; instead, he dressed up as the 12th Time Lord and visited a 14-year-old named Daniel. He even brought a pair of sonic sunglasses. You can check out the visit, below.

The visit came after Daniel was hoping to attend the Doctor Who Festival in London recently. However, Daniel suffers from Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (EDS). He’s currently stuck in a London hospital and couldn’t make the trek to the festival, leading to a pretty sweet online campaign to bring the world of Doctor Who to Daniel. Steven Moffatt eventually sent out a video message to reach out to the young Doctor Who fan, and The Metro reports Matt Smith and Frances Barber also visited.

As much as Who fans love Matt Smith—especially when he’s wearing his Who bowtie—there’s nothing that beats meeting the current Doctor dressed up in costume and ready to play the part. Bad Wilf podcast later tweeted out the autograph Capaldi gave to the young kid.

It’s always pretty cool when celebrities show up in costume and give these visits their all. Last year, Chris Pratt dressed up as his Guardians of the Galaxy character Star-Lord and visited sick kids in the hospital. The new, all-female version of The Ghostbusters cast has also done something similar, and that's not even counting all of the celebrities who have met fans in the hospital, not in costume.(This is also not counting that crazy time Robert Downey Jr. visited fans in a Tigger costume.)

While Daniel already got a pretty cool visit from Capaldi’s Doctor, he has a lot to look forward to in the Doctor Who universe this month. While the latest season did just wrap up this past weekend, Doctor Who has a Christmas special planned and it's going to feature River Song and a bunch of other special moments for fans. The Doctor Who Christmas special is set to air on BBC in the UK and BBC America in the US. Tune in between stuffing yourself on meats and cookies.
