Watch First Teaser Trailer For HBO's Luck
Since it was announced this summer, HBO’s horse racing show Luck has mostly stayed out of the news. We know Dustin Hoffman is set to star as gambling man Ace Bernestein and Nick Nolte will play a down-and-out horse trainer. Director Michael Mann (Heat) and David Milch (Deadwood) are behind the project, but since July there has been little other information from HBO’s end. Now, HBO has released a first teaser trailer for Luck.
I don’t know a ton about horse racing, but after seeing HBO’s first teaser, the program seems to be less about the glory of horse racing and more about family and the people on the business end. Which is fine, since that will allow Luck to grasp the high stakes and drama of horse racing culture without focusing on expensive-to-produce racing shots. You can check out the video below.
Luck is expected to premiere in January, likely taking over Big Love’s former timeslot.
