Watch: Jimmy Kimmel And John Krasinski Are Involved In An Epic 3-Year Prank War
Emily Blunt popped up on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week to promote her new film Into The Woods, but first Jimmy Kimmel recounted the story of the escalating prank wars he and his wife, Molly, have engaged in with neighbors Blunt and her husband John Krasinski in recent years. Catch hilarious footage from the prank wars, below.
During Monday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! the late night host admitted that the prank wars between his family and Emily Blunt and John Krasinski have been going on for several years. Each year has topped the last, starting with a small holiday light display and leading into such shenanigans as installing neon signs, zombies, and giant lawn ornaments on each others’ property. Then, last year, Kimmel felt pretty confident he could end the war by employing his Jimmy Kimmel Live! employees to gift wrap Blunt and Krasinski’s home. The results looked roughly like this:
As Kimmel notes, he truly felt that gift-wrapping his friends’ home would never “be topped.” But top it they did. In the video, Blunt explains how they gift-wrapped his vehicle not once, but twice, filling it with ornaments the first time.
And filling the car with creepy carolers (and a reindeer) during the second part of the prank.
Because Blunt and Krasinski clearly can’t help themselves, they even shocked Kimmel with one final Christmas surprise during the actual late night episode on ABC, with Krasinski making an appearance dressed as Santa Claus. He takes Kimmel’s car for a spin while it is gift-wrapped and totally wrecks things in the process. But don’t take my word for it. If you haven’t already, be sure to check out the crazy prank-oriented video, above.
It’s not often that we get to see celebrities in their everyday lives, but I love that Kimmel, Blunt, and Krasinski are totally open about their ridiculous prank wars. It’s not shocking that the neighbors would get along so well nor that they would be into such shenanigans. Krasinksi used to play a prankmaster on The Office and Kimmel’s favorite thing in the world is tricking people, as he has shown with his “Lie Witness News” and “Halloween Candy” sketches. It’s perfect that the three celebrities ended up living in near proximity to one another, because they are a match made in prank heaven. Stay tuned to see what they get up to next year.
