Watch Justin Bieber Get Egged In New Comedy Central Roast Promo
After pop singer Justin Bieber made headlines in recent years for plenty of delinquent behavior, there was something pretty satisfying about hearing he had signed on for the Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber. Regardless, there’s something even more satisfying about seeing The Biebs get pelted with eggs. Check out the excellent first promo for the Comedy Central Roast, below.
Seriously, you have to hand it to the “Girlfriend” singer for allowing himself to be poked fun at well before he actually sits down for his roast. Other roastees have played up the weird (James Franco) and crazy (Charlie Sheen) aspects of their personalities prior to sitting down and getting roasted, but Bieber allowed the Comedy Central Roast team to literally pelt him with cold, slimy eggs while he just stood there, taking it like some sort of martyr. That’s taking things above and beyond, and it’s nice to see Bieber is committed to the joke. Seriously committed. Just look at that cringe.
Comedy Central first announced that Justin Bieber was the next celebrity to get roasted back in January. At the time the singer had just recently released a set of ridiculous Calvin Klein ads that were becoming notorious and even got spoofed on Saturday Night Live. Following that and a slew of run-ins with the law (not to mention the neighbors), The Roast of Justin Bieber seemed like the perfect next step.
In more recent weeks, Kevin Hart has been added to The Roast of Justin Bieber as the Roastmaster. Suprisingly, Hart revealed that he and Bieber are actually friends, so adding the popular film actor should prove to be a good fit. Bieber is actually the first musician to get roasted since Flavor Flav’s big roast in 2007, so it should be a night to remember. Besides, there's something perfect about the idea of using the Biebs. Not only is he a grown-up child star, but he's, without question, one of the most famous people in the world. There is more than enough material, and by all accounts, he's ready and willing to take any shots people want to deliver.
The live taping will occur on March 14, and Comedy Central is expected to air the Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber on Monday, March 30 at 10 p.m. ET. In the meantime, I hope the network continues pelting the singer with other random objects in the promos.
