Watch Tina Fey And Amy Poehler Return To Weekend Update
Amy Poehler and Tina Fey returned to Saturday Night Live last night for a raucous and wild episode. And what a way to close out the year it was. The episode featured wild segments, two Hillary Clintons, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Paul McCartney, Santa hats and of course, the return of the two hosts to the “Weekend Update” chairs. You can check out the latter bit, below.
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler couldn’t take all the glory away from present hosts Colin Jost and Michael Che, so instead of running the entire “Weekend Update” sketch, the two leading ladies popped up to give us the last couple of news items and deliver the final two jokes of 2015. Tina’s joke/news item is about an elementary school teacher changing the lyrics of “Silent Night.” Then Poehler pulls out all of the stops, making a crack about sex crimes on the subway in New York.
No offense to Amy and Tina, but I almost like the end of the video the best. As Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Colin Jost and Michael Che all said goodnight, Che kicked his feet up on the desk, revealing he wears sneakers with his sport coat. I love it.
While the Fey and Poehler edition of “Weekend Update” was a treat, it hasn’t been forever since the two women reprised the role. In fact, Poehler and Fey, along with Jane Curtin, all presented “Weekend Update” during last winter’s SNL 40 special. In case you missed that, we also embedded it, below.
If you liked this edition of “Weekend Update,” the rest of the night was equally rambunctious, with aforementioned performances from Bruce Springsteen, his band and his pal Paul McCartney. If you didn’t actually watch the episode, this is the type of glorious stuff you missed:
Saturday Night Live will return on January 16, 2016. Find our when the rest of your other favorite shows will be returning with our midseason TV premiere schedule.
