Welcome To The Jungle, Brooke Shields
Brooke Shields has reportedly signed on for a new NBC series set to premiere this fall. Based on Candace Bushnell’s most recent novel, the series will be titled ‘Lipstick Jungle.’ Bushnell was the auther of the hit novel-turned-TV show, ‘Sex and the City.’
While ‘Sex and the City’ centered on four women in their mid thirties dealing with sex, relationships and their careers in New York City, ‘Lipstick Jungle’ will take that story a few steps further. The new series will center on three wealthy, successful women in their forties dealing with their careers and relationships in New York City. Ok, so far it sounds just like ‘Sex and the City’ except subtract one woman and add five or ten years. Then again, the fact that this series is set to air on NBC, we probably shouldn’t expect some of the occasionally steamy and often hilarious bedroom scenes that ‘Sex and the City’ usually delivered.
Shields was cast for the role of Wendy, a married woman with three children who also happens to be the president of a movie studio.
Brooke Shields is no stranger to the small screen. Along with starring in her own show, ‘Suddenly Susan,’ she’s appeared in ‘That 70’s Show,’ ‘Nip/Tuck’ and most recently, an episode of ‘Two and a Half Men.'
