What Bran Is Going To Be Doing On Season 6 Of Game Of Thrones
HBO’s Game of Thrones has done a great job of keeping a lot of things under wraps related to Season 6. However, as the series draws ever closer, we’ve started getting tidbits about what some of the characters will be up to. The week, Isaac Hempstead-Wright spoke out about what to expect from Bran in Season 6. We already know he’s been training with the Three-Eyed Crow, but apparently, his gift is going to allow him to mash up the past, present and even the future to come. Here’s what the actor had to say about the upcoming episodes:
It’s a bit refreshing to hear how Bran will be using his gift during Season 6, and it echoes the little footage and audio we’ve gotten related to the upcoming episodes. A few weeks ago, HBO released a teaser trailer featuring Bran ominously stating that the collective they have “no idea what’s going to happen.” Obviously, we now know that Bran will be able to see the future, so he does at least have some clues regarding what is going to happen.
I’m also extremely interested in that comment about “The Great War.” The first episode of the fifth season was called “The Wars to Come,” and seem to indicate that more big battles for the overall gain of the Iron Throne are just over the horizon, not to mention problems with the White Walkers who seem hellbent on taking over. But since Bran is actually going to be prescient this season and have a good idea of how the past connects to the future, it seems he’ll know a lot more than he’s letting on in this interview with EW.
When last we left Bran it was at the end of Season 4. He and his random band of travelers had finally reached the Three-eyed Raven, a man who will help hone Bran’s unique gifts and whose body is fused to a Weirwood tree. Apparently, Bran’s training was not nearly as interesting as some of the stuff we ultimately got in Game of Thrones Season 5, including (SPOILERS!) Arya’s change into an assassin, Jon Snow’s stabbing, Sansa’s forced sex and escape from Ramsay, Brienne tracking down Stannis in the cold, Shireen’s horrible fate, Dany’s escape on the back of a dragon and, of course, Cersei’s long walk. He was written out of last season, but now that he’s coming back, it’s nice to know the character’s presence will fit nicely into the show's overall narrative.
Along with Bran's big fate, we also know that Game of Thrones' new episodes will see Margaery trying tactics to get out of prison. Here's what else we know about the upcoming Season 6, which will hit the schedule this April.
