What Leonardo DiCaprio Thinks Of His Lady Gaga Reaction Going Viral
Last night’s Golden Globes were a pretty tame affair, despite the fact that the oft controversial Ricky Gervais returned to host the big event. However, one moment that has people amused was Leonardo DiCaprio’s reaction to Lady Gaga walking by, which featured him making one of the most hilariously frightened faces we’ve ever seen at an awards show. The face went viral, and this morning, Leonardo DiCaprio spoke out about his reaction hitting the web.
Leonardo DiCaprio’s comments to Entertainment Tonight seem to indicate that he didn’t mean to have such an emotive reaction to Lady Gaga passing by him at his table, but I think his word choice is still amusing, as he notes he didn’t know “what” was passing him, not “who.” Although Lady Gaga’s choice of costume last night was actually pretty demure considering some of the other things we’ve seen her in—remember all her nude shoots, that meat costume and those wild red gloves at the Oscars last year?
Sure, that dress made Lady Gaga’s waistline look tiny, and jutted out in a pretty weird manner around her hips. It is also true that she lightly brushed into Leo with her weird hip pads as she walked by, which might have a been a bit surprising, but I’m not sure how it garnered the over-the-top reaction that Leonardo DiCaprio had that was then caught onscreen for the internet to laugh over. If you haven’t seen it, without further ado:
Still, I’m happy Leonardo DiCaprio had no idea what was going on as Lady Gaga walked by on the way to accept her award for Best Actress In A Series, Miniseries Or Limited Series Made For Television, because that look is priceless. Maybe he was really just surprised Lady Gaga nabbed the award for her role in American Horror Story: Hotel. He wouldn't be the only one. All in all, she's lucky he didn't snub a high-five, as Common memorably did with Oprah last year.
DiCaprio also had a pretty good night at the 2016 Golden Globes, taking home the Best Actor award in the drama category for his turn in The Revenant. To check out the full list of 2016 Golden Globes winners, head here.
