Well, it's February, and in the world of television, that means that it's time to start casting the new pilots for the 2007-08 season. There have been a wave of actors being cast for tons of new shows, and the latest is Xena herself, Lucy Lawless. Lawless, the infamous star of the campy 'Xena: Warrior Princess,' was cast in the ABC drama pilot 'Football Wives,' as one of the leads.
It would certainly seem, though not mentioned in the Hollywood Reporter, that 'Football Wives' is under the category of remake, taking the reins from BBC's hit soap opera 'Footballers' Wives.' Both of the shows revolve around the wives of (here's a shock) professional football players.
Lawless, though best known as Xena, has been recently seen on the cult SciFi Channel hit 'Battlestar Galactica.' So, remember, keep your eyes out for Ms. Lawless in her new role, unless of course, it goes the way of half of the new shows made for the fall season: either not picked up, or cancelled in a week's time.
