The crowd is filing in, the promo packages are playing, and we're less than an hour until WrestleMania 41 kicks off. Though the matches have started yet, WWE has already made some major announcements so far in Night 1:
- Rey Fenix will be making his WrestleMania debut when he faces El Grande Americano tonight. Fenix is a last-minute replacement for Rey Mysterio, who was injured during Friday's SmackDown taping.
- WWE has announced the acquisition of Mexican wrestling promotion AAA as well as a Worlds Collide premium live event at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles on Saturday, June 7th.
Speaking of injuries... Bayley appears to have been attacked backstage earlier today. It looks like Lyra Valkyria has 24 hours to find a new partner for her WWE Women's Tag Team Championship match on WrestleMania 41 Night 2.
Can we get Chelsea Green on the card?
A Paul Heyman hype package for the city of Las Vegas? Sign me up! We're minutes away from WrestleMania 41!
Jelly Roll gets us started with a low-key rendition of "God Bless America" ahead of WrestleMania Saturday.
Now we're on to those "walking while not looking at the camera" introductions WWE loves so much.
Looks like we're getting things started with "Main Event" Jey Uso challenging Gunther for the World Heavyweight Championship! I haven't been hyped for this match, but I'm starting to get there. We shall see...
But it looks like we're getting our traditional Triple H, er, WWE Hall of Famer Paul "Triple H" Levesque, WrestleMania promo before we see any in-ring action.
Welcome to WrestleMania!!!!

Gunther has only been pinned by two wrestlers -- Cody Rhodes and Sami Zayn -- since making his WWE main roster debut. Will Jey Uso be the third? We'll know here shortly.
Powerbombs, foreign objects, and sleeper holds can't bring Jey Uso down. What's it going to take for Gunther to retain?
Gunther with the belt shot! #WrestleMania pic.twitter.com/wo7XTcx8X1April 19, 2025
It must be laundry day in Vegas because it's one clothesline after another in this opening match.
Powerbomb -> Superkick -> Spear -> Uso Splash -> Uso Splash -> Uso Splash! Is Jey Uso about to be the champ?
Gunther Taps! Gunther Taps! Gunther Taps! "Main Event" Jey Uso is your new World Heavyweight Champion after that offensive onslaught!
Brothers don't shake hands, brothers gotta hug!
The New Day and The War Raiders are up next? Is the leaner, meaner, and vindictive tag team about to add another tag title to its collection?
Tag team action for the Clash of Clans title, er, World Tag Team Championship, is underway.
I'm a sucker for super-heavyweights that can move around the ring, so it's no surprise I'm there for Ivar.

AND NEW WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS..... THE NEW DAY!
NEW CHAMPS! YES THEY ARE!#WrestleMania pic.twitter.com/QBXGHxh3EHApril 20, 2025
Our first non-title match is coming up. Jade Cargill vs. Naomi also happens to be one of my most anticipated bouts on the card. I LOVE heated feuds like this.
And we're off and running!
Jade Cargill gets revenge, wins her first singles WrestleMania match, and looks like a badass '90s Storm in the process. The crowd is still dead, but this was my favorite match of the night so far. Still a lot of wrestling to go...

Time for a SummerSlam ad... Looks like Cardi B will be getting in on the fun when WWE takes over MetLife in August.
Oh Snap! Jacob Fatu is about to make his WrestleMania debut when he takes on LA Knight for the United States Championship. The first two title matches tonight saw new champs. Is it going to be the case here? Probably, unless Solo Sikoa gets involved...
Jacob Fatu is him!
But LA Knight's car is so cool. Yeah!

Finally.... the crowd shows up! I don't know if it's the building or the in-ring product, but Allegiant has pretty much been silent outside of this United States Championship match. Hopefully, this momentum continues in the latter half of the Night 1 card.
Yes! Yes! Yes! Jacob Fatu has won the United States Championship. That guy can go! Hopefully this is a sign of things to come for Fatu, and this WrestleMania card.

WWE had to pivot today and insert Rey Fenix in place of an injured Rey Mysterio to take on Chad Gable, I mean, El Grande Americano in this lucha vs. lucha match. I wish were seeing Fenix's Mania debut under better terms, but this should be a great bout.
I know the El Grande Americano thing is supposed to be a big joke, but Chad Gable, or the guy who looks exactly like him in a mask, is making this work. El Grande and Rey Fenix are putting on one hell of a match out there.
I cannot wait until Fenix and Penta work a program together, either as the Lucha Bros or in a heated rivalry like Bret vs. Owen. WWE is finally doing great things with luchadors.

Chad Gable is so good at the old school dastardly heel. Not quite on the level of Big Boss Man crashing Big Show's dad's funeral, but the loaded mask bit is great. This has to be leading to a mask vs. mask match with Rey Mysterio when the WWE Hall of Famer comes back from injury.
61,467 is the announced attendance for WrestleMania 41 Night 1, according to HBK.
The build for the WWE Women's Championship has been awkward, to say the least. I'm hoping this is all put to rest when Tiffney Stratton takes on Charlotte Flair. Love her or hate her, the Queen of WWE puts on a damn good match at the "Showcase of the Immortals."
There's a lot riding on this one...
The boo birds have found Charlotte Flair. They just seem to be firing her up more.
Side note, I still can't get over her entrance robe.
“One of if not the greatest women’s wrestler of all time.”— Michael Cole talking about Charlotte Flair#WrestleMania pic.twitter.com/NaqfHwMhGcApril 20, 2025
Tiffany is doing a number on Charlotte's knee. Great "ring awareness," but why wait so long to take out your opponent's biggest weakness?
And still WWE Women's Champion... Tiffney Stratton. What a huge win for the young champion! Talk about a hard fight. Bruised, battered, and beaten, but Tiffy Time continues after that Prettiest Moonsault Ever!
The match we've all been waiting for is coming up next. Time to see CM Punk's first WrestleMania main event as he enters a three-way dance with former Shield brothers Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns.
Make a final run for the bathroom, refill your drinks, and take care of any unfinished business, because it's about to go down.
But first... the 2025 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony recap.
Seth holds it down when it comes to entrance gear, but Roman's shoes are ON POINT tonight!
This CM Punk retrospective promo package is hitting me in the feels. Goosebumps over here.
You EARNED this, CM Punk! ❤️#WrestleMania pic.twitter.com/xF5023iR6xApril 20, 2025
Here we go!
A suplex onto a trash can has gotta hurt. Like for real.
How long until Rollins and Reigns tease a Shield powerbomb?
Okay, the Spear into the Pedigree is legit one of the coolest things I've seen in a wrestling match!
Deja vu! 😲#WrestleMania pic.twitter.com/QCsTPVtdq8April 20, 2025
GTS into the Spear into the Curb-Stomp made the night worth it. Now Paul Heyman is pulling out a chair?
Never trust Paul Heyman!
With a little help from his new friend, Seth Rollins wins the WrestleMania 41 Night 1 main event!
Well, that wraps up the first night of WrestleMania 41. And while it's going to be hard to follow up that main event, tomorrow's Undisputed WWE Championship Match could get it done.
Make sure to tune into tomorrow at 7 p.m. ET when WrestleMania 41 Night 2 kicks on Peacock (or Netflix in international markets).
